Audi S3 Sportback

As a concept, the Audi S3 has an appeal that is no less attractive than when this model first launched its 'premium sport compact' trail four generations ago in 1999.

You take a high-end interior and mix it with four-wheel drive - and, of course, power. All very Audi. But the brilliant part is that the concoction is then wrapped in a regular sized family hatchback skin (although, in the case of the S3, the newer one is five doors rather than three). The S3 therefore represents everything modern Audi does well, only distilled into a cozy little package. And since the powerful supermini S1 is no longer on offer, the S3 is once again the most affordable route to Audi's fashionable S and RS enclosure.
